I said goodbye to Kat at Schiphol airport today. She’s going to stay at her parents’ for a week, and on wednesday she’ll get to formally graduate (in a gown & hat and everything!). She’ll be back here on saturday. I already can’t wait.

A university teacher of mine, who was also a teacher of my sister’s died two days ago. He was quite young; 48 years old. He died very suddenly of skin cancer. None of the students I’ve spoken to knew about it.
