Bärbel showed where she has been in the world in her blog, but I’m not much of a globetrotter. As you can see I’m more of a Europetrotter:

And a WesternEuropetrotter at that. (And I have to admit I’ve only been to Norway in utero LOL)
As for housing news: the strategy [...]

Mestreech

We met up with blogfriends Sarah, Bärbel and Nicholas in Maastricht yesterday! (Who were all three every bit as nice in real life as they are on their blog )
The wheather was really nice for the time of year, with a cold wind but plenty of warm sunny spells, and so we had a [...]

Well, if you don’t count two rabbits and a crazy cat.
I said goodbye to Kat at Schiphol airport today. She’s going to stay at her parents’ for a week, and on wednesday she’ll get to formally graduate (in a gown & hat and everything!). She’ll be back here on saturday. I already can’t wait.
Maybe she’ll [...]

She’s here :-)

Yay again!
She had about 30 kg. worth of luggage with her. Oof! She had to leave her student room in Birmingham behind, so she has basically moved from there to here. We did a lot of heavy lifting yesterday. But we got it all here in the end

Yay!
This is just a tiny update, because I’m expected in the living room to watch Neighbours with my lovely. She did really well for her essay, btw! We went to collect her grade yesterday and it [...]

I thought it might be nice, as a clarification of point 19 of the last post, to describe how Dutch people behave at bus stops.
Imagine a busstop on the edge of a pavement.

You get “cool” points if you can find a spot that is far away from the bus stop so that no-one knows [...]

Britain

It sometimes seems from watching the BBC, that Britain is a very normal and civilised country. Oh how they fool you!

Kat found a list on Facebook called “You know you’ve studied abroad in Britian when…”. In anticipation of my upcoming trip to the land of the Brits, I’ve collected the ones that I have actually [...]

Ant & Squirl

I was just cleaning files away from my computer, and I came accross these two little stories that I once translated for Kat. They are written by Toon Tellegen, a Dutch author who mainly writes children’s stories about animals. They are so lovely though. I thought I’d share these two with everyone reading this blog.
