Updated on the 28th of September 2007: also known as the day my buscard expired, but I was ill so I wasn’t even on the bus. A sad sad day… but on with the show!
About Kat and Loe
We are a pan-European couple with roots in Cyprus, England, Germany and The Netherlands. We are currently residing Nijmegen (NL).
Kat is translator/proofreader for a well respected Dutch translating company. She recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a double bachelor degree in Modern Greek and German.
Loe is an educational scientist, working for a small and wonderful company as such. The company specialises in developing e-learning simulations.
Kat enjoys cooking, shopping, watching tv and listening to music, Within Temptation particularly.
Loe enjoys reading, watching tv, avoiding housework, reading more, and doing silly crafts.
Our common interests include: eating good food, living the good life, sleeping, watching weekly contest shows, and maintaining as many online profiles as humanly possible.
Kat speaks English, Greek, Cypriot Greek (when angry), German, too much Dutch for her own good, and a French word here and there.
Loe speaks Dutch, English (her own style of it), a bit of German, a few Greek words and a lot of silly French (when in the wrong kind of mood).
We’ll be writing this blog in English (most of the time), just so that the most people can actually read it. We appreciate comments in any of the languages we can understand.
May I ask a few questions?
How did you meet?
Is Kat a UK citizen?
Where will you both live when Kat is done school?
ummm that’s it for now!
Kat is a UK citizen, yep!
And when she is done in uni, she is planning to move in here. We’ll see what happens after that. We both feel more like European citizens, than country-specific citizens, so we’ll see where we end up eventually. It will depend on job oportunities, gay friendliness and climate I guess.
And we met online! On a messageboard about ER. My first post was in response to something Kat had written, and she sent me a message to welcome me. We then got chatting about British comedy shows, christmasses celebrated Cypriot style, and about me crashing through my bed LOL We soon started talking on MSN, and right from the start we just talked for hours and hours every day.
We first met face to face in Amsterdam during the gay channel parade, where we went to help out Amnesty International.
Thank you for answering Loe!
What a interesting story! Sounds like love at first chat!
And now I am really interested on to where you two end up after Kat is done school.
So are we!
And I guess in hindsight it was love at first chat. It only took us one and a half years to figure that one out though LOL
Sarah! I just noticed your question got answered hee hee!
We ended up in Nijmegen, evidently
And now you will move again… That is funny!
