German toy bears..help?!

Can one of the German readers (or one of the other readers that happens to know) please help me think of the name of this toy…it’s doing my head in:
When we lived in Germany (1987-1990) we all had these toy little bears. They were made of rubbery plastic, with a tiny layer of fluffy velvet [...]

C-c-cold!

What has happened to the wheather? It has suddenly gone from an after-summer-well-maybe-it’s-going-to-be-winter-in-some-distant-future to wham-bham-winter’s-just-around-the-corner kind of coldness! Brrrr-rr-rrr. Don’t know about everyone else, but we’re wrapping ourselves up in our wintercoats already.

Autumn

It’s autumn. Well and truly.
I always very clearly feel the change from summer to autumn. Much more clearly than any other seasonal change. I get more introspective and I suddenly feel like staying inside all day, curling up with hopelessly romantic novels (a.k.a. lezzy smut) and doing lots of knitting and needlework.
I made Mr. Squirrel [...]

Kat’s birthday

It’s Kat’s birthday today
We’ve already celebrated it yesterday, starting the day with a beautiful birthday card from Kat’s mother. Later my parents came over for a visit and some cake. And we finished the day  eating pizza’s from our local Turkish (but Italian baking) pizza place, watching season 1 of the Brtitish series [...]
