It’s june already! I’m not even used to writing “2007″ yet instead of “2006″…time is going so super fast!
Two important things are happening on this first day of June. First off, it’s the annual Blogging For LGBT Families day today.
It’s to raise awareness of families of lesbian women, gay men, bisexual men and women and transgendered people.
Kat and I think of ourselves as a lesbian family. We may not have children (yet) and most of the time there’s a sea physically seperating us, but she’s my ‘next of kin’.
As illustrated by the pride t-shirt that Kat had designed, but that only arrived just now (a week after pride…):

And when we are talking about our future together, we talk about having children or not, and all the ‘how to’s’ and the decisions involving this and we talk about how we can legally protect our relationship. We learn a lot in that respect from other blogging lesbian families who have dealt (and are dealing) with these issues before us, and are sharing their experiences with the world through their blog. This means a whole lot to us. We don’t have to keep reinventing the wheel. And in discussions we can say: “Well, but how about so&so of {insert blogname} who have solved this problem in this particular way?” It makes life a lot easier. So thanks to all blogging LGBT families out there!
Today is also important for another thing….it’s “curtains up” for Script Frenzy! Aiii!
I have talked to my father, who is a playwriter of many published and played plays, and he helped me choose and flesh out the outline of a play about a man suffering from Alzheimer’s and his family.
As some of you may know, my grandmother is suffering from Alzheimer’s at rather a late stage, and along with her, my whole family is suffering from it- especially my grandfather & mother and aunts.
So it’s going to be both difficult to write, and easy to write, as I can take some examples of real life.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see whether I can do this in just one month! 20,000 words of a stage play in 30 days…eep! Wish me luck

Update: look at what the loveliest woman on this planet brought home with her just now! (blush)

Awwww!

kusje!
And you know what’s even worse? They are selling calendars for 2008 already at the bookstores! Can you believe it?
I know, it’s too fast! They shouldn’t start doing that until december, really, to give us all some time to at least get used to 2007.
